Do you not think that this year has been anything but peaceful and positive? You might think that it has been chaotic, stressful, and one big whirlwind. In fact, there may have been times during the full lockdown where you did feel at peace.
You had the whole of lockdown to sit and reflect if you were one of the people who temporarily lost their jobs. We couldn’t leave the home, so all we could do was think about the things in life that we might not have thought about before. How grateful we are for life, what we want to do differently, how we want to better ourselves. The list of things you might have been thinking goes on. Some of you might have gone really down in the dumps, some might have been the driving force of positivity making the most out of everyday.
However you’ve handled this year, we know that it might be time to think about peace and posterity. Relaxing your mind, body, and your entire life so that you can enjoy the rest of the year surrounded by calm. Although it’s very uncertain how we will actually end the year given that cases are rising all around the globe, we know that speaking about calm and how to instill it can be great for your mind and body. Recognizing What Your Body Is Saying
Our bodies tell us so much, but do we listen? Often, no! We can run on such low energy and such bad moods and it just becomes the norm. Think about how many conversations you’ve had with different people that involve talking about the way that you think or feel? And how many times have you listened to conversations of people saying how tired and drained they feel? It’s so common for us to run on empty because that’s what we’re used to, and that’s the habit that we’re following. So, rather than allowing your body to feel that way, listen to what it’s saying and react to how you’re feeling. If you’re feeling really stressed and low and you feel as though your calm is altering, take some time for yourself. Think about something that you love to do, or once loved to do. It might be reading or going for a long walk, both are great for bringing calm into your life. If you’re feeling so tired and drained and that’s causing you to be stressed, take a hot bath or shower before bed, far earlier than you usually would, and climb into bed with a candle on and read a book. You’ll be totally relaxed and asleep far quicker! The more you listen to your body and action it, the quicker you’ll get over the feeling that you’re feeling.
Surround Yourself With Comfort
This is an important one, and one we’ve touched on briefly in the last section. You need to surround yourself with comfort if you want to have a positive and peaceful time in life. If you’re always surrounded by stressful situations it’s going to be so hard to feel the peace that you desire. So, think about the people and the situations that you’re putting yourself in. It you’re finding life far from peaceful and positive perhaps due to your relationship, it’s time to change it. We know that so many people are stuck in relationships that they don’t feel completely happy in, but as an adult it can be so hard to pull yourself away from that. But we believe that the end of this year should be focused on putting number one first, and making changes that only bring peace into your life. It might be that you have toxic friendships, or even family members. It doesn’t matter who they are, if speaking to them about the problem doesn’t take it away, maybe you should remove them as the problem! The same goes for work, one of the most stressful places in anyone’s life. If you’re constantly stressed and finding it hard to be positive and happy at work, could it be time for a career change? It might be something you want to consider after Christmas, when hopefully the dust from the pandemic settles.
Calming Techniques to Try
So, we really do think that to have peace and positivity in your life, you first need to be calm and at peace in life. If you do feel like you’re stressed and uptight more often than not, there are plenty of calming techniques that you can try. The first is to try meditation or deep breathing techniques. There are apps that can guide you through this that are specifically designed to induce calm. Yoga is another great calming technique to try, and it’s just great for your body. You could also try natural herbs for relaxation. So many people might be quick to jump to pharmaceutical drugs to induce calm, when in fact herbal remedies are going to be far less harmful and are great for your body, and most likely are going to work better without any harmful side effects. Like we say, there are so many ways to live your life with peace and positivity if you put the effort into doing so!
Healthy Routines
It doesn’t matter what your reason is for starting a healthy routine, we should all be doing it. The benefits of having a healthy routine in life stem further than just bringing peace and positivity, it’s about taking care of your body and your mind. If you think about how quick life is passing us by, our bodies are aging all the while without us even realizing. Everything we’re doing to our bodies right now is going to have a domino effect as we get older. So, we think now is such a good time to think about how you can change your life to fit around a healthy routine, and it starts in the morning. Wake up, shower, have a morning stretch, and drink a big glass of water. If you’re not hungry for breakfast, simply have a bowel of your favourite fruit and eat when you feel like you can. That simple morning routine is perfect for anyone, easy to do, and it gets the body ready for the day. Exercise is such an important part of a healthy routine, so try and do at least 3 hours a week, however you spread that out! A nice 30 minute walk a day would be great. Repeat this on the night time minus the shower if you don’t need one, and the bowl of fruit. Replace those for a nighttime read, or writing down positive affirmations. Giving out positive vibes by thinking them, saying them outloud, and writing them down is going to attract positivity.
Simplifying Your Life
Finally, take some time to simplify your life. You might feel as though you’re always on the go rushing around trying to get a million and one things done, so why not simplify! You’re going to find it so hard to feel peace and positivity if you’re always going a million miles an hour. So, think about how you organize your day, and how many things you do that might not be in your best interest. That could be toxic habits, racing around for other people or simply just organizing your day wrong! We find that it helps to plan out every single day so that you know what you’re doing and when, especially if you’re a known scatterbrain!
