If you are constantly working out but don’t feel as though you are seeing any real results, then you will know how frustrating this can be. You may feel as though you are not getting the toned body you want even though you are putting the hours in and this can be frustrating to say the least.
If you want to help yourself here then it’s a good idea to try and uncover the reason why, so you can stop yourself from wasting too much time or energy.
You’re Doing Far Too Much Cardio
Cardio might be an essential part of losing weight, and it’s super important for your heart health too, but if you do too much cardio then this could be why you are not getting toned. You need to have a full exercise and diet plan if you want to tone up properly because if you don’t then you may find that you end up running yourself into the ground. If you cannot lift weights because you experience discomfort or pain then contact a pain management doctor to see if they can give you some support.
You’re Not Eating Enough Protein
If you want to tone up your body, then you have to make sure that you are eating enough protein. Protein really is one of the building blocks for life, and if you are not getting enough of it in your diet, then this can really work against you. Protein is a vital component in developing muscle tone as well, so make sure that you keep this in mind.
Poor Attitude
Believe it or not, having a poor attitude will work against you far more than you realise. Studies have shown that thinking you are not exercising enough can be harmful to your health too. If you want to help yourself out of this rut, then you need to try and push those negative thoughts aside and you also need to understand the effects that they have. If you are able to do this, then you will soon find that you feel better.
Not Doing Enough Strength Training
If your routine is repetitive and you feel as though you have been doing the same thing over and over again, then your body will get used to this and you may even hit a plateau. Switch your normal training routine up by trying to do more sets or spending more time at a higher tension. When you do this, you can then minimise your rest period so you can get way more out of each workout you do.
Impatience
Nothing ever happens overnight. If you are being impatient with your weight loss, then you may find that you lose motivation and that you get discouraged too. If you want to help yourself then remember that losing weight takes time, so it’s super important that you allow yourself a rest period now and again. If you do this, you can shift your focus and come back stronger than ever.
