Fresh air is good for you. It can reduce your heart rate and boost your circulation and lung capacity. It can decrease toxins in your body and help you to flush out pollution. Spending more time in the fresh air can help you to sleep, keep your skin clear, improve your concentration and focus, and boost your creativity.

Those of us that spend more time outdoors are often more peaceful and less stressed out. You may even be happier and healthier if you can get outside more.

But it’s not always easy. For many of us, our days are spent commuting in traffic, sat in stuffy offices, and then slumped on our sofas. Day to day, the only time outdoors that you might get could be walking to and from the car or standing waiting for a train.

This can be bad for your physical and mental health and wellbeing. So, let’s take a look at some great ways to get more fresh air.

Take up an Outdoor Hobby

An outdoor hobby, like fishing, golf, hiking, or geocaching, can be a great way to spend more time outdoors. Even if you don’t get the chance to go as often as you’d like, when you do, you’ll get lots of fresh air and time in nature. You might even enjoy extra social interaction and stimulation, which are boosts on their own. Look at Tailored Tackle for fishing equipment and supplies if you fancy a go at angling.

Spend More Time in Your Garden

The easiest way to get more fresh air is to step out of your back door and into your garden. If you’ve got one, that is. You are more likely to spend time in your garden if you love it. So, it might be time to give gardening a try. Spend time adding new colors and different scents. Paint your fences, lay new grass, and give yourself a space where you enjoy spending time. Add seating, and even a covered area so that you can get outdoors whatever the weather.

Then, use it. Start eating outdoors. Take your laptop out there to work. Practice yoga on a mat on your dusking, or simply lie in the sun reading a book.

Walk to Work

Another easy way to get more fresh air, as well as exercise, is walking to work. Walking to work and skipping the traffic can even improve your mood and reduce your stress levels. If you work too far away to walk the whole way, park further away or get off the train a station earlier. Walk whatever you can, as often as possible.

Go for a Run

The gym is excellent. It gives you access to plenty of different weight and cardio machines, letting you use all of your muscles under one roof. But, there are also many advantages to going for a run out in the fresh air. Try to exercise outdoors occasionally, whether it’s running or just a brisk walk.

Go to the Park

If you have kids, one of the best ways for you all to get more fresh air is simply to head to the park with a football. It’s free, it’s easy, you get quality time together, and the health benefits are vast.
